The Devil’s Horn

The Devil’s Horn is a look at the saxophone’s controversial history and alleged dark powers. It explores the sax’s longstanding curse that stemmed from the difficult life of its mad inventor and is still said to affect saxophonists who fall prey to the instrument’s dark powers. You will see saxophones—and saxophone players—in a whole new light.

Considered cursed, it was previously banned by the church and the Nazis, and from 1950s Hollywood soundtracks.

The Devil’s Horn is based in part on Michael Segell’s 2006 book of the same name.
